R U OK?
In 2018 AFL Canberra joined forces with mental health partner R U OK? to launch an awareness round to create an environment that encourages meaningful conversations both on and off the footy field. In 2019 AFL NSW/ACT announced the inaugural state wide R U OK? Round, which occurred on August 3-4. This was played by all 14 leagues in the New South Wales and ACT region and was the first time AFL NSW/ACT ran a simultaneous initiative across all leagues in one weekend.

Fight MND
In partnership with AFL Canberra, Sockit2MND is an MND awareness-themed round for sporting associations across Australia.
We invite all sporting clubs to support FightMND by getting involved, purchasing a pair of ‘Big Freeze socks’ and wearing them proudly during the dedicated FightMND Round on June 13-14.
The Sockit2MND round brings communities together to have fun, fundraise and in so doing, create a sea of blue at your games. The aim of Sockit2MND is to support all those among our local communities that have been affected by MND, as well as raise awareness and vital funds for further research into finding effective treatments, and ultimately a cure for Motor Neurone Disease. We want you to join us to ‘make a difference’.
